Astins of Somerset provided bespoke model boat trophies to Skandia, title sponsor of the British sailing team in the Olympic Classes. Skandia honoured the team’s success at Beijing 2008 upon their return home to London by presenting medallists Ben Ainslie, Sarah Ayton, Sarah Webb, Pippa Wilson, Paul Goodison, Iain Percy and Andrew Simpson with the trophies at a homecoming event held at London County Hall in August 2008
           
These famous 2008 Olympians received Astins Hand made trophies as commissioned by Skandia. Left to right, Ben Ainslie, + the girls who sailed to Gold in their Yngling class dinghy, Paul Goodison with his Laser, and  Bryony Shaw with her Windsufer sculpture. Others receiving awards were Ian Percy and Andrew Simpson- congratulations to them all!

We have been creating sailing trophies & awards since the 1960’s to  many sailing clubs and associations right across the world, Above just a small range of the sort of yacht that our designer can produce for you in any size, class or price bracket. The scupltures shown are hand made to a very high specification, in stainless steel. Special note should be made that OUR designs have hulls and are faithfull reproductions of full size yachts & dinghies.  These can be mounted as shown, and placed, with or without the steel base onto a wooden plinth.  There are few products like this anywhere, and Astins are one of only a handful of companies worldwide that can offer this unique bespoke service.
